At Terra Education, safety is our #1 priority. And that includes the safety and security of your personal data. Our organization will only communicate with you about our programs and to convey related information or relevant content. For example, if you complete and submit one of our catalog request forms, we’ll email you a copy of our digital catalog with details on all of our travel programs. We will never share your information with anyone or spam you. Promise.

3. Information We Collect

We collect information from visitors to our web properties who complete forms, such as Request for Information Forms (RFIs) and Enrollment Forms, as well as through information voluntarily provided to us by a visitor, such as resumes and cover letters. This information is collected and stored as part of our customer service, admissions, enrollment, and travel coordination processes.

Information we collect on RFI forms may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name of Respondent (first/last)
  • Email Address
  • Requester Category (student/parent/group organizer/other)
  • Desired Travel Window (Spring Break/Summer/etc.)
  • Desired Travel Location (Africa/Asia/Europe/Latin America)
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone Number

Information we collect on Enrollment Forms includes all pertinent information required to enroll in and participate in our programs, including detailed medical notes, payment information, travel itineraries, and more.

Data Use and Processing

We use any information we collect to provide important information, facilitate safe program participation, and market programs and related services to prospective participants. All data we collect and process is for the purpose of enrolling participants in Terra Education programs and providing a high-quality educational and travel experience.

Email

We maintain an internal email list of all persons who have had email correspondence with our organization, completed forms on our web properties, enrolled in our programs, or otherwise provided Terra Education with their email address.

We may use this list to send updates, promotions, and announcements regarding Terra Education programs, as well as related content. You may indicate on your initial request that you only wish to receive the information for which you provided your address.

You are never under any obligation to remain on our email list and may unsubscribe at any time by emailing privacy@terraeducation.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe.”

If you would prefer to receive only certain categories of communications, please email privacy@terraeducation.com and specify your preferences.

Mail/Post

If you supply us with your postal address online, you may receive periodic mailings containing information about our programs and related materials.

If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please send a request to privacy@terraeducation.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe” and include your name and mailing address.

Phone/Text

Persons who provide us with their phone numbers online will only receive phone contact regarding information or resources they have requested, such as details about Terra Education programs and enrollment processes.

If you provide your phone number online or offline, you may receive phone calls and/or text messages from Terra representatives regarding information you have requested.

To opt out of phone calls or text messages, please notify the representative directly or email privacy@terraeducation.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe” and specify your preferences.

All Other Personal Data

Any other data you supply Terra Education may be used to provide information about our programs, program-related content, enrollment information, or preparation for participation in a program.

4. How We Share Information

The contact information we maintain is for internal use only and will not be sold or disclosed outside Terra Education and its affiliated programs except as described in this policy.

We may use third-party software platforms, service providers, and social media tools to support our operations. Where personal information is shared with service providers, such sharing is limited to legitimate business purposes and subject to contractual safeguards where appropriate.

We do not exchange marketing lists or sell personal information.

We do not share personal information about our participants or their families with external parties except:

  • As required by law;
  • To facilitate participation in our programs;
  • To activate travel medical insurance or related services;
  • To support operational services provided by approved vendors and partners.

Once enrolled, participants may have the option to allow Terra Education to share limited contact information with other enrolled participants and their families.

Recipients of stored data may include staff, participants, families, service providers, educational partners, insurers, and governmental authorities when legally required.

Data is primarily stored in the United States. Due to the international nature of our programs, data may be transferred internationally. Appropriate safeguards are implemented to protect personal information during such transfers.

Participant and former participant information may be retained for extended periods where necessary to:

We periodically review stored information and remove data that is no longer required.
